The University of Indianapolis (UIndy) invites applications and nominations for dean of the College of Health Sciences (CHS). UIndy is a private teaching university renowned for cultivating a culture of connectedness and service for impact that extends far beyond the campus. UIndy offers over 90 majors, 40 graduate programs, and five doctoral programs to nearly 5,000 students. With a vibrant and diverse student body, UIndy fosters a supportive learning environment with small class sizes and a strong focus on inclusion.
Founded in 1987, the College of Health Sciences is nationally recognized for its programs in physical therapy, occupational therapy, nursing, kinesiology, and other health professions. CHS is home to a talented team of faculty and staff dedicated to student success and offers unique programs like the state’s only neonatal nurse practitioner program. As a regional leader in health sciences education, CHS is deeply engaged with the University Heights neighborhood and the broader Indianapolis community.
This is an exciting time of growth and momentum at UIndy, underpinned by a bold strategic plan led by President Tanuja Singh that will position it as a modern institution with global reach and impact. The Dean of CHS will play a pivotal role in advancing this plan including its focus on interdisciplinary collaboration, innovation, and elevating UIndy’s local, national, and global reach. With the recent integration of the School of Nursing, the dean will advance all disciplines within CHS, promote interdisciplinary collaborations, and foster an inclusive culture. The ideal candidate will be an experienced academic leader in health sciences who demonstrates integrity and purpose, enhances CHS’s distinctive identity, and strengthens its community engagement and impact.
