Our next board member spotlight is Christopher D. Ingersoll, PhD, LAT, ATC, FACSM, FNATA, FASAHP. Dr. Ingersoll is a member of ASAHP’s Board of Directors. He has been involved with ASAHP for several years as a faculty member for ASAHP’s Leadership Development Program and a member of the Leadership Development Committee. In 2014, Dr. Ingersoll was inducted as an ASAHP Fellow, which recognizes members who have contributed significantly to allied health as administrators, educators, clinicians, or researchers. He is currently the founding dean of the College of Health Professions and Sciences at the University of Central Florida.
ASAHP spent some time with Dr. Ingersoll and learned some interesting tidbits about himself:

How long have you been in your position? 2 ½ years
What’s the value of education in the health professions? It prepares individuals to improve the human condition.
What is the value of ASAHP? ASAHP provides networking opportunities for health professions educators and administrators that you cannot find in any other organization.
Why did the health professions interest you and how did you get started? After sustaining a personal injury in high school, I learned about sports medicine. The thought that you could make a living helping people achieve their goals was inspiring to me and I sought a pathway to enter a helping profession.
What are you looking forward to during your ASAHP board tenure? Paying back for all the value membership in ASAHP has provided to me.
Your philosophy on education in 7 words: For what it means to be human.
Before I retire I want to: Figure out where I want to live when I retire.
In college, I was known for: Nothing. I was an unremarkable student.
My favorite trip was: Tuscany, Italy
