ASAHP Hosts First Annual Summit on July 28th in Minneapolis
The Association of School of Allied Health Professions (ASAHP) is hosting a Summit on Healthcare Workforce Readiness for Interprofessional Collaborative Practice this summer in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It will take place on Saturday, July 28, 2018 from 12:00pm-5:00pm at Hyatt Regency in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This will be a pre-conference session to the Nexus Summit, sponsored by the National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education, which will be held at the same venue.
The focus of the Summit is “Sustainable Collaborative Health Care through Education-Practice Partnerships” and is open to leaders from academia and practice to mutually explore the current realities of both environments and the interdependent relationship between them. The outcome of the Summit will be co-created actions steps and several outputs for dissemination.
The keynote speakers/facilitators for the meeting are Tracy Christopherson, MS, BAS, RRT and Michelle Troseth, MSN, RN, FNAP, FAAN from MissingLogic who will engage participants in activities using Polarity Thinking™ to help understand the interdependencies between interprofessional education and collaborative practice (IPECP) and determine critical action steps for education and practice settings toward a sustainable interprofessional workforce.
The topics for the interactive sessions are:
· Exploring Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice through a New Lens
· Developing a Polarity Thinking™ Mindset & Skills
· Mapping the IPECP Interdependent Realities
· Global & Local Action on Creating and Sustaining Education-Practice Partnerships
There will be several outputs from this event:
· Consensus Report on the Proceedings of the ASAHP Summit
· Manuscript Submitted for Peer Review
· Education-Practice Partnerships Activity/Progress Strategies/Methods
· Prioritized Research Agenda Moving Forward

ABOUT THE PRESENTERS:
